The Walt Disney Company Senior Financial Analyst in China
The role is accountable for managing and driving improvements in financial processes, controls, systems and reporting necessary to support the financial planning, operations, analysis and business insights for the Disney Consumer Products Licensing business in China.
We are looking for an individual with an innate curiosity, high sense of ownership, able to quickly adapt to change and challenges, team player with sound business judgment.
Responsibilities : Financial Operations
Assist in the preparation of the quarterly forecast, annual budget and five-year strategic planning
Build and manage forecast models, analytics tools, and templates for licensing business.
Manage and deliver financial forecast submissions through to multiple enterprise planning systems
Manage quarterly accruals process and help deliver forecast/close variance explanations and submission templates
Help with the preparation of management presentations as and when required, i.e. budgets, forecasts, business updates
Financial Systems & Controls
Drive and manage planning/reporting system improvements, partnering with IT to upgrade and enhance existing tools as well as create and deploy new productivity solutions
Manage all financial data hierarchies and attributions ensuring systems are aligned and reporting is accurate
Create new tools, resources and processes to drive business process efficiencies, consistency and accuracy
Financial Reporting and Business Insights
Prepare all monthly and quarterly reports & schedules required for submission to Regional and Global Finance, coordinating with SAS (Shared Accounting Service).
Closely monitor quarter end and year end closing deliverables, ensuring timely preparation and accurate submission of templates
Ensure reporting is timely, accurate and suitably tailored to the audience/stakeholders
Manage and drive improvements in all on-going financial and management reporting
Work with Finance Managers, Director, Finance, and category team to develop appropriate models for assessing new business opportunities and establishing performance measures for functional organizations and category team.
Analyse performance (tracking revenue & expenses regularly) and provide variance explanations and recommendations for operations.
Support cost savings initiatives and track and report projected/actual savings
Help to create, distribute and consolidate ad hoc local market submissions
Basic Qualifications :
CPA and/or MBA preferred a plus
Experience working with financial IT systems
Experience working with SAP/BW and Cognos Reporting a plus
Financial modelling and analysis
Process improvement implementation
Template creation and consolidation
Application of financial and accounting principles
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint
Required Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent qualification or experience
