Walt Disney Attractions Technologies (WDAT) is the organization within the Walt Disney Company that creates, develops and maintains the digital Guest experiences for the Walt Disney Theme Parks and Resorts segment of the company. This scope of work includes mobile applications for Disney Parks and Resorts guests.
As a member of the Technology team you will be defining the technology platform for The Walt Disney Company’s premier travel web sites. As a Mobile Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery and execution of projects for Disney Parks and Resorts commerce mobile applications.
Building and leading multiple development teams consisting of iOS and Android software engineers. These teams will be a combination of onshore and offshore developers.
Directly oversee, mentor, and develop the technical staff and supervise the technical delivery of those developers.
Responsible for technical analysis, effort estimation, product and system design, evaluating architectural fit and compliance, resource schedules, delivery milestones, and overall product quality.
Manage a variety of diverse - and sometimes conflicting – requests, priorities, and activities. Candidates will need management and communication skills to interact with people at all levels, within WDAT and across the Walt Disney Company.
Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and staff
Participate in the broader DIGITAL & Disney Technology organizations, and ensure that products are created in a platform-centric manner.
Enforce and grow a culture focused on quality.
Basic Qualifications :
5+ years of mobile development experience.
3+ years managing technical professionals.
Knowledge of Traditional and Agile software development lifecycles and methodologies.
Expertise in mobile development technologies using Swift and Java
Experience with the creation and consumption of SOAP and REST Web Services.
Portfolio of released applications to the Android and iOS stores.
A sound understanding of content management systems.
Solid understanding of e-commerce architecture, OOP design principles, third party libraries.
Experience in a large media, technology or internet company.
Success at achieving sophisticated technology goals on-time and on-budget.
A comfort level with complex, matrixed organizations containing a certain amount of ambiguity.
Required Education :
Master of Science (Computer Science), or equivalent experience.
