As the Manager of Engineering for Guest Profile, you will deliver enterprise web applications, native mobile apps and back-end services for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in an agile software environment. In this role, you will leverage the latest tools and technology to deliver new projects and enhance current capabilities related to Guest identity management. Disney Parks websites and mobile applications are large and complex, unlike anything else you will find in the travel and entertainment industry today.
Key aspects of the role include working closely with the digital business teams to drive requested capabilities throughout the entire development life cycle including conceptualization, estimation, design, development, QA, deployment and support. The successful candidate will have a combination of skills, including prior mobile application development experience at large scale, web development experience, cloud deployment, and services development experience. Other key attributes include test driven development philosophy, agile software development principles, project management, business acumen, and evangelism to successfully accomplish this opportunity
Lead highly motivated, efficient engineering studios which deliver high quality mobile apps, services and web components
Collaborate closely with digital business teams, design, quality assurance, project management, and system engineering teams
features in an empowered team environment
Handle performance, high-availability and stability in all deliverables
Provide oversight, guidance and mentoring to engineering teams
Basic Qualifications :
Has 7+ years of software experience (2+ years of mobile experience, 4+ years of service/API experience, 4+ years of web experience, 3+ years of leadership / management experience) AWS experience is a plus.
Builds excellent software engineering teams: co-located, distributed and remote
Excels in software estimation, project planning, dependency management, schedule analysis
Automates software with continuous integration / continuous delivery
Delivers software in an Agile environment
Communicates very well in written and verbal form
Delegates work effectively
Coordinates effectively in distributed team environments
Manages simultaneous software projects and priorities with ease, including conflicting ones
Demonstrates technical ability when necessary
Builds lasting, strong cross-functional working relationships
Mentors the engineering team and raises the overall skillset/capabilities over time
Navigates complex, matrixed organizations with ease
Automates code delivery and quality with continuous integration/continuous delivery
Emphasizes maintainability, scalability and defect-free coding via well factored code and CS fundamentals
Required Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
