Consumer Identity teams provide critical consumer facing access and identification services across TWDC business units. Nearly every digital consumer experience across the company relies on OneID for mission critical business operations, including booking Parks vacations, playing ESPN fantasy football, buying products from TheDisneyStore.com and many more. OneID is involved in nearly every large initiative The Walt Disney Company has underway. Responsibilities : As a Manager of Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of a foundational set of services for consumer identify services used by ESPN, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, ABC, ABC News, ABC OTV, Disney Interactive, Disney International, Studio, and other groups across TWDC. You will be challenged with building a top-notch engineering team to deliver innovative and scalable systems. You will be empowered to think big, independently make judgment calls to keep teams moving and find elegant solutions to hard problems.
Successful candidates will have an established track record delivery developing complex software systems, excellent people and project management skills, keen technical aptitude, solid communication skills, and be driven to achieve results in a fast paced environment
Basic Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 5+ years of experience; or Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience.
2+ years of experience leading software development teams through product/platform releases.
3+ years of experience making individual contribution to real-world software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Track record of developing engineers through various career stages and building high-performance teams.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience building complex, high-performance, and highly-available distributed software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Experience delivering software services and systems where the primary customer is other software developers.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, highly collaborative environment.
Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement of systems, software and processes through data analysis and metrics.
Demonstrated proficiency with an object-oriented programming language; strong object-oriented design and algorithmic analysis background.
