Disney+ is the Disney-branded streaming service featuring an outstanding collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world including Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and NatGeo. Hulu is a premium streaming service that offers premium originals, current season TV, a massive library of hit series and movies, and live television. Our combined Disney and Hulu team is looking for hardworking team players to join the Growth Fraud Prevention and Security team, who will thrive upon the legacy of Disney and Hulu, embrace unconventional thinking, and who are passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience through strategic hard work and determination.

The Growth Fraud and Security team is responsible for protecting our customers and our services from bad actors. Our team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help design and build services to improve the security posture of our commerce and Identity services . This role is highly multi-functional and gives the opportunity to work with Product, Information Security, Data, Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, and various other functions across the company. You take pride in being responsible for your features, focusing on quality, reliability, and scale, and are mindful of maintainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Build sophisticated and highly impactful systems

  • Write code in Java, Javascript, React

  • Use AWS products and services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, Opensearch, CloudFormation, etc.)

  • Develop RESTful services

  • Work with SQL and NoSQL

Basic Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science (or related field)

  • 7+ years of experience building large scale software services preferably in AWS

  • Previous experience taking ownership of features/functionality

  • Previous experience creating well tested services

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to investigate any technical component as well as understand and contribute to overall systems architecture

Job Posting Statement The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $156,300 to $209,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
