Disney Streaming Services Atlas team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer that is passionate about building new technologies for the entertainment/media industry. Disney Streaming Services is now a leading authority in media streaming and real time data processing, distribution and analysis.

The Atlas team is the central data hub for the image service used by Disney’s streaming services and other services used by different sports entities. Through a highly scalable RESTful API designed to support millions of concurrent users, our data is consumed by fans, broadcasters, media partners, and professional sports teams.

Responsibilities :

The Opportunity:

As a Software Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to write clean, concise, modular code in an agile environment.

You'll also:

  • Lead and take ownership of critical projects.

  • Work on a great technology stack including Scala, Java, PostgreSql, Spring, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda and more.

  • Collaborate with a team of extraordinary engineers and technologists.

  • Influence the innovation of products used by millions of users worldwide.

  • Participate in the full lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance).

You are:

  • Well versed in back end technologies: Scala, ASW, Java, SQL.

  • Experienced building large and scalable applications.

  • An avid learner, independent with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Familiar with NoSQL databases such as Couchbase or Redis.

Basic Qualifications :

3-5 years of experience at-least.

Preferred Qualifications :

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experienced Web Application and Microservices development.

  • Skilled with Akka and Play

  • Skilled in front end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.

  • Familiar with messaging queues: ActiveMQ, Kafka, Kinesis and SNS/SQS.
