Core Systems & Platforms vision is to craft, build, integrate, and deploy highly effective and stable core business systems and platforms for the Enterprise and Corporate Functions. We are responsible for advancing the Business and Enterprise Technology Strategy by creating shareholder value. We lead with a Business Architecture framework and own Core Finance function domain technology roadmap.

Responsibilities:

You will have the opportunity to deliver innovative solutions by driving strategic technical direction in support of Enterprise Technology. This will include driving detailed testing plans, standards, and testing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys technology, is always learning, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and holds themselves and others accountable to a high standard of development. They will need to be able to influence peers and leaders to which they have no direct authority and feel comfortable in situations where they must drive and defend quality. A confirmed track-record of delivering cohesive testing solutions for integrated sophisticated systems.

  • Leading a test team where a project comprises of many components from conceptualization through implementation.

  • Actively leads third-party suppliers to ensure they deliver to their commitments, and to the needs of the business.

  • Collaborates closely with partners across the organization including Disney Financial Systems business partners, EnTech architects, Core Finance Platform leaders, PMO and other delivery managers.

  • Providing technical direction and evaluating the quality of work you're doing.

  • Working closely with technical and non-technical leaders to strategize on delivery approach and dependency management.

  • Ensure proactive scheduling of key deliverables, achievements, and result tasks.

  • Partners closely with the Quality Management office (QMO) to ensure projects are following standards and utilizing appropriate technologies for success.

  • Use metrics, including burn-down charts, to drive performance, efficiency, and forecast improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years in related work experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience proven ability with functional testing, including testing strategy, test case development and execution, and defect management.

  • Excellent solving skills to root cause sophisticated issues.

  • Passion for quality with a no line of code written without testing mindset.

  • Develop overall testing processes in conjunction with other organizational partners and delivery teams.

  • Strong punctuality with a history of meeting commitments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience collecting, reviewing, and updating requirements and/or user stories.

  • Experience writing user documentation from engineering stories and requirements.

  • Experience with SCRUM and other Agile development practices.

  • Providing testing leadership, able to inspire and coach other technical members to perform at their highest potential.

  • Eight to twelve years of dynamically related experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components

  • Ability to support and drive defect management.

  • Strong practice of agile development in a collaborative, dynamic team environment.

  • Highly flexible to quickly changing business needs and adoption of new technologies.

  • Ability to create and maintain documentation, procedures, and work instructions for development or operations team.

  • Ability to communicate to both technical and business users and the ability to gracefully handle passionate conversations.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver on agreed upon timelines.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Working knowledge of the importance of automation and the correlation to successful testing.

  • Expert-level knowledge of building End-To-End system­wide test scenarios.

  • Progressively related experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components.

  • Strong understanding of unit testing, behavioral testing, and continuous integration.

  • Working knowledge of qTest tool suite.

  • Strong adapting skills “Shift-Left” mindset and ability to drive and thrive in this atmosphere.

  • Responsible for providing support, as needed, to studio testing teams.

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

  • The position requires frequent communication with senior leaders, technical colleagues and partners across several different geographic locations and time zones.

  • Strong communication skills that allows you to collaborate with all members of an extended and diverse project team.

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and be capable of tracking multiple issues simultaneously.

  • Strong mentoring and guidance skills to provide oversight and direction to contractors and internal members of the software development team.

  • Ability to handle virtual teams and work with resources in multiple sites (onsite, offshore, near shore).

  • Strong time management skills.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
