Critical to providing these experiences for our Guest and Cast, our Quality Engineering organization implements the latest techniques for ensuring these digital capabilities are delivered with the highest quality. We partner with software development teams to ensure quality techniques are applied at the beginning of feature design and construction. Throughout the construction process, we utilize test automation to prevent or detect defects as early as possible. To further enhance our quality engineering capabilities, we are pursuing the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

As a Global Quality Engineering Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will have the opportunity to exercise your initiative and curiosity to help us deliver magical experiences for our Guests and Cast.

Responsibilities :

  • Help build/modify and maintain Test Automation Frameworks for app UI, API, web, mobile, and point of sale terminal functional automation

  • Work with test architects to identify and prioritize tests that are candidates for automation

  • Interact with development teams to help implement optimized and re-usable functional test automation

  • Provide test automation to development teams on certain projects

  • Provide test automation for regression and integration efforts

  • Maintain the functional test portion of the Continuous Integration pipeline

  • Define onboarding requirements for tests entering the Continuous Integration pipeline

  • Review automated test code to assure adherence to standards and to advise on optimization

  • Research, identify, and implement new test automation technologies

  • Define, document, and conduct training on test automation practices, tools, and coding standards

  • Be a point of escalation for other Disney Cast and third party vendor SDETs

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience (minimum) programming in an object oriented programming language such as Java or C# and experience with JavaScript

  • 3-5 years of experience (minimum) working with UI, Mobile UI and API test automation using:

  • Selenium

  • Appium

  • JUnit

  • TestNG

  • Java

  • Experience working in or a solid understanding of test driven development

  • Experience working in or a solid understanding of behavior driven development

  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment

  • Experience with a continuous integration tool such as Jenkins, or Bamboo

  • Experience with container services such as Docker

  • Experience leveraging third-party application and service Web APIs

  • Solid Understanding of Agile development lifecycle

  • Solid understanding of software testing practices

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure or other cloud services providers in support of CI/CD solutions

  • Knowledge of test technology trends and Web frameworks/tools (AngularJS, NodeJS, cloud etc.)

  • Experience working with cloud services Selenium grids and cloud services device farms (Sauces Labs is preferred)

  • Experience working with NodeJS and NPM

Required Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
