Product Management

The Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney’s incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. As a member of this team, you will have an impact on the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content.

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology is seeking a Principal Product Management role within its Commerce, Growth and Identity (CGI) organization. The CGI team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. We create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and cutting-edge capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney’s

streaming and digital products.

This is a high-impact and high-visibility role. The role allows you to go deep into commerce monetization yet get a good breadth of product exposure across commerce, identity, media, and even external comms/PR. This role will sharpen your skills to be a cross-functional product leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive prioritization of features on the roadmap by tying to company goals, getting buy-in from senior management (from Directors to SVPs) and aligning with other product domains towards shared objectives

  • Create compelling presentations and present to executive and internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with analytics to design experiments that measure the efficacy of the initiative and test hypotheses.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with members of the product, design, marketing, business operations, legal, data & analytics, customer service, regional teams, engineering teams and more, to develop, test, and deliver high quality products and features.

  • Motivate teammates to sprint towards goals in ways that engenders excitement, collaboration, and ownership.

  • Consistently develop and document detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures

  • Champion a collaborative work environment that cultivates shared understanding, transparency, autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning

  • Be a trusted authority in the domain, and be sought after as an expert and influencer in the domain

  • Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver

Qualifications:

  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication that brings clarity and instills confidence.

  • Proactive, self-starter nature.

  • Relentless resourcefulness in finding a path around obstacles you may face - leveraging your skills, your network, your team, and your manager.

  • Comfort in working with both senior business stakeholders and deeply technical engineers.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in product management or relevant technical field

  • Appreciation for market nuances and good listening skills in working with regional partners to fine tune regionally, as needed.

  • Grit and tenacity to keep pushing, no matter the challenge.

  • Possess strong knowledge of data, experimentation, commerce, and ideally subscription services.

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $ 180,700 – $ 242,300 per year, in San Francisco is $ $197,900 - $265,400 and in NYC and Seattle is $189,300 - $253,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
