In addition, DTP licenses musical titles for local, school and community theatre productions through Music Theatre International, including The Lion King Experience , a unique holistic arts education program wherein accredited elementary and middle schools produce condensed, age-appropriate JR. and KIDS adaptations of The Lion King

Disney Theatrical Productions seeks a collaborative, proactive, organized self-starter responsible for all administrative aspects of the Education & Audience Engagement department. This includes scheduling teaching artists, booking space, coordinating department projects and timelines, paying department bills, editing education publications, and coordinating with group sales team and theatre staff as needed. The Education & Audience Engagement department is a high-volume, collaborative, and creative team with a shared commitment to quality programming, access, inclusion, and innovation.

Responsibilities : Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to the Education & Audience Engagement Director, including travel, expense reports, and scheduling.

  • Booking post-show talkbacks for groups attending DTP’s Broadway shows, including: confirming the event with appropriate parties, facilitating group donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, arranging facilitators.

  • Booking Broadway workshops for groups attending DTP’s Broadway shows, including: confirming staffing, arranging space, tracking payments, tracking teaching artists reflections.

  • Booking Access Disney on Broadway workshops and talkbacks, including: confirming time with schools, confirming staff, tracking teaching artists reflections.

  • Processing weekly payroll for Disney Theatrical Teaching Artist ensemble.

  • Maintaining office procedures and education programs during high travel periods.

  • Updating Teaching Artist online portal, keeping information accurate and up-to-date.

  • Supporting updates to the Disney Musicals in Schools website, and any future websites.

  • Supporting Education staff in the development and implementation of Education programs and products, including editing and coordinating education publications and training materials (Study Guides, training workbooks, etc.), curriculum building, and content creation.

  • Representing the education team at conferences, events, and school performances.

  • Liaising between other departments on shared projects, and managing the education departments timelines and deliverables on such projects.

  • Serving as administrative point-person for teaching artist faculty.

  • Keeping department bookkeeping current and accurate.

  • Processing department invoices.

  • Processing incoming payments.

  • Providing administrative support for education events including: teaching artist professional development sessions, Disney Musicals in Schools educator professional development sessions, Disney Musicals in Schools Student Share, license requests for Disney Musicals in Schools, etc.

  • Supporting the planning and preparation for DTP special events including booking space, teaching artists, ordering supplies, prepping materials, etc.

  • Preparing meeting agendas, circulating meeting notes, updating department calendar, etc.

  • Copy editing educational publications.

  • Organizing department’s physical and digital assets.

  • Ordering and maintaining department supplies.

  • Booking travel for teaching artist staff and others.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • A collaborative spirit, proactive nature, and ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

  • Superior Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. InDesign and Salesforce a plus.

Preferred Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in a relevant field
