The Walt Disney Company Servicing Manager, Content Distribution in London, United Kingdom

We are seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of Manager Content Distribution on a 18 month fixed term contract, based in Hammersmith London.

The successful candidate will oversee a team responsible for content delivery for International Non-Linear Disney Channel VOD deals. They will demonstrate excellent customer focus and communication skills, and have direct line management experience of managing and motivating a high performance team. This individual must have relevant experience of the complexity of non-linear platforms, with an aptitude for problem solving and workflow design.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee a team to ensure delivery of high quality materials in line with the contractual commitments

  • Provide team support and raise and execute accurate and timely orders in relevant systems to meet required delivery deadlines, if needed during periods of cover

  • Liaise closely with the Commercial Sales and Onboarding teams to successfully project manage launches, and provide on-going account management for platforms

  • Liaise with Programming department and Content Prep team to ensure material availability according to contractual VOD delivery time lines and manage expectations across departments and platforms

  • Contribute to negotiations and planning for specific projects providing technical expertise, cost information, contract specifications and project timelines

  • Capture, analyse and provide reporting of statistics such as Actual vs. Forecasted monthly figures, volumes associated with non-linear production, Success & Rejection rate etc. and take appropriate action where necessary

  • Primary liaison for Non-Linear Disney Channel VOD deals servicing requests from platforms

  • Builds close and effective working relationships with the key platforms and ensures that content is delivered to the highest quality in the appropriate timeline

  • Works with the Director to anticipate and support new technology opportunities

  • Build a strong rapport across the business to ensure good visibility, and collaboration

  • Use their strong technical knowledge to problem-solve issues, and works with the Director to review workflows and the adoption of new technical opportunities

  • Manages their direct reports to ensure that deals are actively and well managed

  • Provide schedules and cost models to support sales negotiations

  • Participates in creation of the annual Distribution Operations Business Plan

  • Coaches direct reports to build a high performing team

  • Work closely with Director to ensure high level of customer service, in line with current and future servicing needs and maintain a strategic approach

  • Attends and contributes to: Team; Departmental and Communication meetings

  • Work effectively with departmental colleagues and cross-functionally with other members of Media Distribution and Disney Channel

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external parties.

  • Maintains a high level of knowledge about technology developments

  • Adheres to defined business processes, taking opportunities to improve processes where available

  • Drives to continually develop knowledge of the product slate, media types and the territory environment (including customers & market dynamics)

  • Provides training for colleagues on Digital Media platforms, and workflows as required, and offers their technical expertise

Basic Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in TV Distribution/Post Production/Technology required

  • Proven experience of working with a wide range of digital platforms

  • Strong commercial, technical and consumer understanding of digital media

  • Thorough experience and knowledge of file formats, file delivery options, metadata and digital reporting

  • Thorough experience of File based and High Definition technology, New Media and electronic file delivery

  • Excellent and demonstrable project management experience

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Demonstrable management training experience and a team leadership background

  • Works well under pressure, with the ability to remain calm and productive

  • Analytical, decisive and a negotiator with strong technical knowledge and awareness of industry trends
