The Walt Disney Company Cash Analyst in London, United Kingdom

We are seeking an experienced candidate to fill the permanent position of Cash Analyst, based in Hammersmith London.

The successful candidate will support all the corporate cash management activities across all lines of business and territories covered by the EMEA shared service centre. In addition to completing daily/monthly/quarterly tasks the Cash Analyst will work with the senior Cash Accountant to identify and implement process improvements propose technical solutions and deploy automated processes.

The Analyst is responsible for monitoring and controlling data interfaces, analysing unreconciled bank transactions and providing accurate reporting to the business. Due to the complexity of this role, large volume of data, different data flows and formats, and the dependence on supporting third parties, it is essential for the Analyst to understand the underlying processes. This includes billing, credit management and vendor management.

Responsibilities :

  • Complete daily /weekly/monthly reconciliations

  • Investigate and resolve open variances or discrepancies on reconciliations

  • Ensure that all reporting packages are submitted accurately and timely on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

  • Analyse current processes across EMEA including local teams to identify training, policy and procedure changes, and process improvement opportunities

  • Assist with analysing, automating and streamlining the cash management processes, including the migration of new lines of business, to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of operations

  • Assist with the year-end financial audit and testing of SOX controls

  • Assist with special projects, investigations and financial analyses, as required

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field

  • Previous experience of Treasury, Financial, or Accounting experience required

  • Working towards or Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA or ACT desirable

  • Possess good business judgement and strong systems and analytical skills

  • Competencies required: organized, accurate, analytical, collaborative, excellent communication skills, process re-engineering, time management

  • Knowledge of and working experience with a reconciliation and matching solution; preferably using FiServ – Frontier and Recollector, Blackline, or Trintech type solutions.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with attention to detail and accuracy and timeliness

  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships within the organization

  • Ability to work under pressure and to report to tight deadlines

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and process re-engineer utilising complex systems and tools

  • Demonstrated advanced level use of Excel with knowledge of building of Macros and Visio process flowing

  • Persistence in pushing through modifications in particular with local teams and third parties
