We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Manager on a Fixed Term Contract covering a maternity leave, based in the EMEA head office in Hammersmith, London.

This role is within the UK Toys integrated retail and licensing function, responsible for supporting the delivery of the category P&L.

This role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of category strategies and managing the commercial re relationship of a number of licensees and retailers. The scope of the role will include forecasting, aligning and agreeing commercial objectives alongside action planning with Shopper Marketing, Retail and Franchise to achieve these. The individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities both licensed and retail within their categories.

Responsibilities :

Financial Accountability

  • Support the Toys team with development and execution of the P & L and budgets for designated categories, licensees and retailers

  • Ensure targets are met as a minimum with a plan to over-achieve

  • Manage internal expectations with financial data and commercial acumen

Retail Account Management

  • Work with the Category Managers to develop a 12 month account plan, to include targets for revenue growth, franchise presence, category and shopper engagement

  • Work with key licensees, Shopper Marketing, category leads, retail analytics, and other key stakeholders to deliver key objectives and strategy

Licensee Management

  • Contribute to growth and market share of the Toys category

  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with licensees through robust joint business planning

  • Manage operational affairs relating to the licensees, including product development, forecasting and marketing plans

  • Build brand and marketing plans that positively impact brand health and wider cross-company initiatives

  • Manage research, data and insights to plot trends, identify profitable areas of growth and recommend strategies for exploiting gaps on behalf of the team

  • Maximize the breath of product within the category, with support from the DCP Consumer Insight leads, to reach all appropriate demographics, making recommendations for exploring new business opportunities

  • Work with EMEA & Local Licensing team keeping them informed of product gaps, UK needs and opportunities

Basic Qualifications :

  • Graduate calibre, with good commercial understanding of business

  • Financial acumen & the ability to analyse data & construct practical conclusions/recommendations essential

  • Experience of developing and building relationships preferred

  • Experience of developing and delivering account plan preferred

  • Experience of marketing planning preferred

  • Experience of working in multi-level matrix relationship environment, in a multinational organisation preferred

  • Organized and proactive in delivering effective plans

  • Proficient level of numeracy and PC skills

  • Good negotiation skills, communicates well with the ability to influence partners

  • Target driven/action orientated with the ability to multi-task

  • Ability to review and implement effective processes

  • Team player, supportive of colleagues and management to achieve team goals
