Perform installation, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance on electronic automation equipment around different locations, used for water filtration and critical animal life support systems.
Involvement in commissioning of new projects and facility upgrades as required.
Provides input on new technologies considered and stays abreast of technology development and its application.
Looks for opportunities to improve or revise control applications to make the systems more functional for operation.
Basic Qualifications :
Strong expertise troubleshooting and testing PLCs, Instrumentation and Electronic Equipment.
Experience with open and closed-loop feedback control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), relay logic, electric motors (AC and DC), motor controllers (variable frequency, DC, and servo drives) and distributed control networks.
Experience with design, implementation and installation of electrical panel assemblies.
Strong computer skills (Software, Hardware, Networking)
Demonstrated knowledge of PC and Network systems including hardware, switches/routers, wireless, cabling/fiber communication, IP configuration and general troubleshooting.
Candidate must be flexible and possess a strong desire to see a project through completion.
Strong understanding of PLC Programming.
Ability to read drawings and schematics.
Provide schedule flexibility to include weekends/holidays, and potential off-shift hours.
Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of Opto 22 PLCs hardware and software.
Minimum 5 years recent (hands-on) experience in a related Automation field.
Commitment to quality design, implementation, documentation and testing principles.
Ability to program in C and/or C++, or other high-level language.
Understanding of industrial serial communication hardware and protocol technologies such as RS232, RS485, USB, SPI, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU/TCP.
Required Education :
- High school degree or equivalent
Preferred Education :
- An Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
