The Walt Disney Resort hires more than 30K Cast Members every year into union/non-union hourly and skilled trades labor areas.

The Senior Manager, Casting Services will develop and drive key large-scale recruitment strategies, oversee on-site operations, and provide leadership development for the Cast of Walt Disney World Casting Center. A “day in the life” will encompass managing multiple projects, analyzing business metrics, and leading in a complex operating system with multiple functional partners. Representing the Walt Disney World Recruitment Business and the Domestic Recruitment Platform, the Senior Manager, Casting Services is knowledgeable about the needs of all supported lines of business, and educates HR Business Partners and Clients on external factors and the overall pipeline to deliver productive hires to the area.

The Senior Manager, Casting Services will apply knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and company policy in day-to-day decisions that not only ensure a positive candidate experience, but also uphold our service standards. This role holds responsibility for leading the successful delivery of quality hires to meet the Parks operations’ needs and managing initiatives across our recruitment function to improve our relevance, effectiveness, and efficiency.

Responsibilities : This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies, including forecasting, sourcing, selection, and business effectiveness to improve metrics around quality of hire, speed to fill, and overall Disney candidate hiring experience.

  • Lead a large team of Recruiters and Coordinators, providing leadership, direction, coaching and development. Manage the organizational health efforts of the Cast to include work life balance, recognition and accountability measures.

  • Build and sustain effective relationships with clients and partners (Workforce Planning, Finance, Marketing, etc.), using strong, proactive communication and collaboration. Provide value-added results.

  • Provide daily Operations oversight for goal setting, priorities, and issues resolution. Develop expectations, standards, and quality controls to set up business for success.

  • Develop the annual Recruitment AOP (Budget), inform the Recruitment 5year plan, and adjust the quarterly plans to ensure operational and marketing tactics and resources are effectively and creatively considered to drive results.

Develop and maintain current understanding of Line of Business (LOB) drivers and dynamics that affect requirements for hiring; analyze metrics to identify trends and take proactive action.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5 years of experience serving as a leader of leaders

  • 10 years leadership experience within HR, Recruitment, or Operations teams

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic work plan and drive results in a high volume, seasonal environment

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, strong problem solving and confidence in decision making

  • Demonstrated strong relationship-building and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, while promoting innovation and change

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and build high performing teams

  • Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to develop business metrics and storytelling through data analysis

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite applications and base technical aptitude for other systems (e.g., SAP, Recruitment Systems, technology)

  • Strong Guest service skills and the proven ability to respond proactively to client needs

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including a proficiency in clear, concise, and compelling verbal/written communication

  • Ability to exemplify the values of the Disneyland Resort and share those values with our Guests

  • Ability to partner, consult and interact with Leaders and Cast Members at all levels within the Disneyland Resort

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Disney Operations Experience

  • Disney Recruitment Experience

  • Disney Human Resources Experience

  • Domestic Scope and Responsibility

  • Demonstrated acumen of financial five year planning, AOP, capital and/or proforma projects

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with multiple divisions and/or project leading cross-functional teams

  • Proven knowledge of unions, contract language and/or contract negotiations

Proven proficiency in SAP, Kenexa Technology systems and/or virtual/mobile tools

Required Education :

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
