The Walt Disney Company Operations Manager DC2 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

The Operations Manager DC2 role is a frontline supervisory role to lead and manage a certain aspect of a warehouse/distribution center day-to-day operation, which could include but is not limited to inbound receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, put-away/replenishment, pricing, and housekeeping/sanitation. Lead frontline Teamster Union hourly Cast Members (employees) as direct reports by coaching, mentoring, motivating, empowering, removing obstacles, and holding Cast accountable to overall job performance and Company policies and procedures. Make productive and positive contributions to safety, 5S standards, customer service and performance.

Responsibilities :

  • Training Direct Reports: Safety, Regulatory, 5S, Specific Job Functions

  • Ensure compliance with all operating guidelines, safety regulations, and local union contract

  • Monitor individual and team performance indicators

  • Partner with internal leaders to ensure completion of daily tasks

  • Daily operation checklists

  • Daily payroll

  • Daily operation inspections and observations of Cast performance

  • Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using manual and computerized inventory systems

  • Review compiled inventory reports (quantity, type and value of materials, and stock on hand)

  • Enhanced computer skills in order to work with complex inventory software solutions

  • Use of computer hardware and associated software (i.e. database user interface and query, electronic mail, enterprise resource planning, inventory control, warehouse management systems, procurement, project management, spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, human resources, financial and accounting, value stream mapping, process improvement)

  • Ability to run entire department independently (example: a closing shift), acting as on-site salaried leader for Distribution Services and interfacing/trouble shooting challenges in real time as they occur to maintain business continuity (examples: automation downtimes, emergency incident responder, system downtimes)

Basic Qualifications :

  • Proven strong background in warehousing and distribution, 3 years minimum

  • Proven experience and a strong understanding of a warehouse management system (WMS) – Automation and RF experience a plus; WCS (Warehouse Control System) a plus

  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency to include Windows and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, as well as continuous improvement process skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict/resolution

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Demonstrated strong budget and scheduling management skills

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated strong business planning skills

  • Proven experience and a strong understanding of a warehouse control system (WCS)

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish a plus)

  • Demonstrated experience in leading in a union environment (Teamsters a plus)

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Demonstrated project management skill and ability

  • Demonstrated understanding of 5S and KAIZEN principles

Required Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or related field

Preferred Education :

  • Master’s degree or equivalent
