The Walt Disney Company Health Services Program Manager in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

This position will report to the Healthcare Administrator. Overall responsibilities include oversight of Medical Surveillance program testing, Health Services front desk clinical services, and scheduling. Additional responsibilities will include management and strategic utilization of a mobile medical unit, performing OSHA medical surveillance testing as needed, reporting and ensuring proper dissemination of test results to Area Trainers, Regulatory Compliance, and Management and select project management. This position adheres to the highest standard of confidentiality and ensures that all communication and dialogue is handled in same manner.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide day-to-day strategic and tactical oversight of medical surveillance testing performed at the Walt Disney World (WDW) Health Services facility or in the field; as well as utilization & deployment of the OSHA mobile unit; including all scheduling (both labor & location)

  • Works closely with key partners across the organization to advance the medical surveillance services provided, simplify the execution of work, and to maximize efficiencies

  • Works with partners and Leaders in areas designated by Safety for medical surveillance programming, to ensure compliance of Cast Members in those work locations

  • Ensures clinical staff maintain appropriate certifications; ensures certified staffing levels align with current medical surveillance demand

  • Ensures all medical surveillance equipment is maintained; ensures same equipment is scheduled for annual state inspections; and ensures documentation on equipment - as standards require

  • Ensures proper scheduling of Cast Members for medical surveillance testing to maximize labor and equipment efficiencies; identifying gaps and proposing solutions

  • Ensures adherence and updates as needed to policies and procedures for OSHA medical surveillance programs

  • Oversight of daily medical surveillance patient flow by reviewing schedules and preparations for medical surveillance patient visits. This may include follow-up on prior testing and results to expedite physician review and streamline patient flow; as well as ensuring timely discharge for patients; and timely turn around on test results and reviews

  • Provide day-to-day tactical oversight of WDW Health Services front desk clinical services ensuring proper patient flow, processing of documents and utilization of labor

  • Provide day-to-day leadership of the Scheduling Specialist to ensure proper scheduling is maintained for both the Occupational and Guest Health and Mickey’s Cast Fitness teams

  • Supervises others with the ability to perform Orders associated with Medical Surveillance / Regulatory Compliance. Examples include:

  • Respiratory Protection Program – testing includes: Pulmonary Function Testing, Audiometric Testing, ECG’s, etc.)

  • Hearing Conservation Program

  • Diver, Driver and other Role Physicals

  • Perform phlebotomy (example testing includes: Blood Draw for Asbestos, Lead, Cholinesterase, etc.)

  • May assist in requesting medical records from other providers as appropriate

  • Perform other medical treatment in accordance with training, certification and provider orders

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical information and respond appropriately to Legal and Risk Management partners

Basic Qualifications :

  • Ability to evaluate & synthesize various data points in order to develop an overall approach and holistic experience

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and tactical leadership skills, taking concept and driving to implementation, with a focus on people, process and data

  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain medical confidentiality

  • Successful Completion/Certification of NIOSH approved training in Pulmonary Function testing

  • Successful Completion/Certification by the Council of Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)

  • Valid Florida Driver's License

  • Ability/Availability to work weekends

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Three years’ experience in a fast paced clinical setting

  • Prior experience in working with an electronic Scheduling and/or Medical Record System

  • Knowledge of current OSHA Regulations and Regulatory testing requirements

  • Project management experience

Required Education :

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education :

Master's Degree
