Through our award-winning mobile apps and websites, we provide a digital portal to magical travel destinations such as the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida, the Disneyland® Resort in California, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Shanghai Disney Resort. At Disney Parks & Resorts Digital, we also have designed and created websites for Adventures by Disney, Disney Vacation Club and Aulani.
The Digital Production team is accountable for the successful daily operation of these digital experiences, sites and apps during all hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays; when scheduled for on-call duty; or when emergent need arises). The team plays a key role in estimating the necessary funding and level of effort for operations efforts and minor to medium enhancements; makes recommendations for best execution options, interacts daily with business partners, product owners, and design and technology team members to quickly turn around requests for changes; and builds out pages, app elements and changes in a variety of content management systems. Requests can range from quick efforts such as copy and image swap-outs or vanity URL requests, to building new detail pages or new site sections, performing content entry for large projects, or troubleshooting issues on the websites. Level of effort for the types of requests ranges from one hour to six weeks of effort. The work occurs under the direction of Production leadership and in partnership with product managers for a variety of digital experiences that come to life on websites and in mobile apps.
The Senior Digital Producer is responsible for a sizable portfolio of sustainment initiatives in the Digital Guest Experience space for our U.S. destinations, which consists of five lines of business: attractions & entertainment, photo imaging, food & beverage, resorts & transportation and merchandise. In addition, the role will have responsibilities related to the overall health of the mobile apps used daily by Guests at our U.S. destinations. The Senior Digital Producer team is expected to be a leader, both directly and indirectly, to his/her fellow producers within the Digital Production team.
Ensure integrity of the digital systems and information through implementation and maintenance of established system management practices, processes, and controls.
Flexible schedule with the ability to ensure accountability for the operation of websites and apps that are functional 24/7; this includes serving as escalation point of contact for on-call rotation.
Drive the execution of requests across teams, including managing the full life cycle of operational requests and overseeing execution of work by resources.
Partner with Product Management and Business Partners and advise them on detailing requirements for teams to efficiently and effectively execute on work.
Partner with, assign work to, and motivate teams on a daily basis (in scrum meetings, planning and prioritization sessions, execution of work, and software releases).
Determine best approach and process to delivery (within appropriate protocols and requirements) with help of team members.
Manage large teams, including hiring, separating, mentoring, training and coaching both Cast Members and contractors on a daily basis.
Manage multiple external vendor relationships, as well as partnering with human resource leaders and portfolio management to ensure smooth, consistent staff augmentation.
Ensure proactive resourcing of appropriate team members based on scope and requirements, develop schedules to ensure timely completion of requests, and assign work.
Monitor request scope and execute change management when additional requests for features or functionality are made.
Proactively identify and resolve or escalate any risk or conflicts; communicate status, release plans, and scope trade-off opportunities or decisions.
Monitor billing of resources to ensure hours are billed appropriately while addressing any discrepancies.
Identify and drive to execution, solutions to implement requests within queue in a more efficient manner.
Manage costs to budget, including labor forecasting and vendor costs; ensure all costs are appropriate, accurate, and timely.
Provide regular status updates to leadership.
Interpret ongoing analytics in order to develop strategy to influence positive change for site performance.
Ability to directly manage substantial budget for multiple Disney brands, Annual Plans, Forecasts, vendor contracting and invoicing.
Manage escalation and resolution of operations issues, working directly with senior leadership across the company for high impact and visibility issues.
Ability to lead and instruct team members on various tracks.
Ability to lead and instruct business partners in requirements gathering, planning, and status sessions.
Ability to lead process improvement efforts, estimation and requirements workshops with senior executives and business partners
Basic Qualifications :
Superior organizational skills and ability to monitor, manage, and execute on a variety of tasks and efforts at differing stages of discovery and execution, handle a large request queue, and deliver in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Experience working with content management or similar systems for building and maintaining websites, apps and digital experiences (including daily updates to copy, media, building out new pages, and troubleshooting)
Thorough understanding of the software development process, particularly as it relates to web- and mobile app-based applications
Experience maintaining websites and apps that integrate with multiple back-end systems
Experience documenting and estimating initiative requirements
Strong knowledge of estimation and budget/cost management
Strong personal focus on Guest/customer service with a drive to create and maintain a premium digital Guest experience
Ability to quickly apply past experience and judgment to plan future work, identify issues, and accomplish goals
Experience partnering with and leading diverse teams from production, creative, product management, business, and technical disciplines
Experience in negotiating and finding a mutually beneficial result with multiple internal and external stakeholders; excellent expectations management and achievement of high client satisfaction
Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience presenting complex messages clearly and succinctly to different audiences with varying level of product and technology knowledge
Experience in mentoring team members and managing direct reports
Ability to adapt to change and drive support within the team to accept change
Preferred Qualifications :
5 to 8 years website and mobile app delivery experience
Experience working on at least one of the following:
Mobile apps/digital experiences that complement a physical-world customer experience (theme park, restaurant, hotel, entertainment venue, etc.)
eCommerce sites with responsibility for product and pricing load, and experience with troubleshooting issues and understanding complex eCommerce-related integrations with other applications
Large, complex marketing sites with calendar, feature listings, faceted listings, and feeds from other systems
Experience within the travel/tourism industry
Experience within the media/entertainment industry
Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with complex Content Management Systems
Experience in Agile, Kanban, and continuous integration processes
Scrum Master certification
Strong comprehension skills to quickly absorb new concepts
