The Director, Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for leading construction contract administration strategy of goods and services in support of Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) across Theme Parks and Resorts world wide.

This position requires excellent internal customer service abilities as the Director, Strategic Sourcing responsible for interfacing with Segment and Business Unit clients on a regular basis.

The individual is also accountable for providing deep contract administration, sourcing expertise and thought leadership on contracting/sourcing strategies in support of new and ongoing WDI projects. In addition, the position also requires a deep knowledge of process, infrastructure improvements and supplier relationship management. This position will ensure strong technical competency and consistency in approach and quality while providing depth of analysis during the contracting/sourcing process.

The Director, Strategic Sourcing will interface with the Business Unit Stakeholders to fully understand Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and key business drivers and manage strategic contract/sourcing processes and initiatives that take into consideration the impact on operations, guests, competitors and communities.

The Director, Strategic Sourcing will report to the Vice President, Strategic Sourcing, and this position will have direct management responsibility for a team.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead, direct and develop a diverse team of contract administration/sourcing resources deployed against a portfolio of projects.

  • Build/establish and foster strategic relationships with key suppliers

  • Develop Annual Operating Plan and deliver agreed upon economic value to the Business

  • Evaluate total cost/supply analyses to identify opportunities to reduce Total Cost Ownership

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to key Business Unit stakeholders by identifying their critical business requirements and providing contract administration/sourcing services to meet/exceed their expectations

  • Provide rigorous cost and market analysis following Strategic Sourcing models focusing on the total cost of ownership

  • Prepare and execute clear, structured, negotiations following the Strategic Sourcing process

  • Provide and lead contracting strategies that provide best value, contractual protections, adherence to schedule and risk mitigation to constituents while considering impact on operations, customers and competitors

  • Implement cost effective technologies to increase transactional efficiencies and decrease overall cost of operations while ensuring transparency to costs and risks

  • Ensure consistent application of contract administration processes across constituent groups

  • Institutionalize performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performance

  • Ensure compliance by establishing, monitoring and achieving contractor compliance

  • Identify, develop and demonstrate best practices for supplier relationship management

  • Build an organization and culture that prioritizes innovation in contract administration for continual improvement

  • Build a strong organization by attracting, developing and retaining high caliber diverse talent

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive environment and developments within relevant industry partners

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (position may require 30% travel

Basic Qualifications :

  • 8-12 years experience leading a Contract Administration and Sourcing organization Expert knowledge in all types of contractual strategies including design/bid/build, design build, IPD, etc..

  • Demonstrated history of leading and managing diverse teams both US and Internationally

  • Demonstration of strong personal, inspirational leadership that drives a culture of collaboration and team effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated ability to exceed demands of various internal stakeholders across multiple Business Units

  • Ability to make decisions based on

  • cost/financial analysis

  • Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence a variety of constituents

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong and proven leadership and collaboration skills

  • Customer service orientation and client-centered focus

  • Knowledge of:

  • External market analysis to ensure best pricing/service mix

  • Related industry experience in contracting/procuring a diversified range of products and services

  • eProcurement technologies

Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education :

  • MBA or another advanced degree

  • Professional Certification in one or more of the following :Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, etc.

  • Supply chain management expertise
