About the Role & Team

Disney’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.

The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming organization is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the streaming service.

What You Will Do

Part of the Disney+ Global Content Planning vertical, the Content Planning Manager will be responsible for planning, tracking, and reporting of global planning efforts across content types, collaborating closely with operations, rights management, Disney networks, and international programming teams.

Reporting to the Manager, Content Planning, the Content Planning Manager will supervise local acquisitions, manage library curation, localization strategy, and release strategy throughout the lifecycle of titles within the Disney+ ecosystem. They are collaborative and results-oriented who excels at meticulous, logistical planning work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tracking and reporting of Disney+ premiere dates globally, collaborating with global and local planners for library, acquisitions, and special projects.

  • Maintain daily communication and positive relationships with acquisition and operations teams to evaluate rights, localization, and asset readiness throughout the planning lifecycle.

  • Develop calendars, reports, and content plans redefining them into data-driven summaries and/or high-level presentations for executives, including preparing documents for title inventory requests.

  • Represent Disney+ Content Planning in meetings with a professional and enthusiastic demeanor.

  • Serving as a contact point and project manager for ad hoc requests and deliverables.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital media and/or entertainment within areas such as title content planning, content strategy, content curation, localization, lifecycle planning, and project management.

  • Proficient in Airtable, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.

  • Quick and proactive learner, adapting easily to new tools and software.

  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, and time-manager with keen attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and in written.

  • Ability to establish positive relationships and collaborate effectively within a complex organization.

  • Collaborative, with a strong work ethic and a high level of confidentiality.

  • Forward-thinking and adaptable to new processes and systems.

  • Approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset while leading projects for ad hoc requests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in SVOD or Linear TV industry is highly advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Looker is a plus.

  • Knowledge of localization processes (e.g. subtitles/dubs ordering) is a bonus.

  • Passion and understanding of The Walt Disney Company segments, brands, and franchises, along with the ability to engage audiences further.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

The hiring range for this position in CA is $84,500.00 to $113,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
