Responsibilities : This position will be part of the Enterprise Strategic Programs (ESP) team, and is responsible for supporting Walt Disney World Wi-Fi Resort upgrade project and program management activities as assigned. The successful candidate will assist the program manager in the day-to-day delivery of technology projects.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, and collaborative, with solid communication skills.They will have the ability to take direction and interact successfully with technical teams. This position will report into the Program Management, Enterprise Strategic Programs.
A Day In the Life...
Supports delivery of technical network and Wi-Fi projects
Monitors project phases and schedules and tracks progress
Maintains various documents including but not limited to project plans, process flows, issue and risk logs, communication plans, and project action logs.
Supports Project Manager and Engineering teams by coordinating/scheduling project meetings, site walks, capturing meeting notes, and creating/publishing meeting minutes.
Aids in the coordination of project activities with business owners/stakeholders and other teams as assigned by the Project/Program Manager
Facilitates project plan meetings and working sessions
Basic Qualifications :
Effectively prioritizes project work and deliverables, with guidance
Demonstrated excellence in verbal/written communication capabilities and foundational presentation skills
Displays aptitude to understand and execute on project-related financial tasks
Understands basics of updating project budgets, forecasts and actuals
Reviews and updates project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project/program standards
Communicates well with technical and non-technical resources
Takes direction well from management and generally works well with others
Participates in planning activities throughout the life of the project
Sees tasks through to completion with some guidance
Demonstrates experience with and an aptitude to understand Information Technology, Network Infrastructure and WiFi principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior Disney Resort experience
Experience with project planning tools and methods, including expert use of Microsoft Excel
Required Education :
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
Preferred Education :
- Junior, Senior, or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduating) pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Additional Information :
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2019 through April 2019
Candidate must be available to work part time hours (approximately 20 - 30 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must be at least 18 years of age
