Disney Worldwide Shared Services (“DWSS”) is an expanding team of process experts and accounting professionals who provide various shared accounting services to The Walt Disney Company (including all business segments).Fixed Assets Accounting perform asset capitalizations and maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger for various lines of business across the Company.
Acting as an embedded team member within Disney’s Fixed Asset Center of Excellence
Gathering and analyzing data, performing computations and preparing work papers for Fixed Asset Capitalization
Preparing Fixed Asset journal entries
Collaborating with business and accounting personnel throughout the company to obtain and analyze data for SOX compliance
Updating user manuals for the department to outline Standard Operating Guidelines
Perform ad hoc special projects & deliverables
Basic Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications :
- Previous internship or other accounting / tax experience with a CPA firm or medium-large corporation
Required Education :
Junior or senior currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months with) a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or other related major, paired with:
One or more parts of the CPA exam taken and passed OR
At least one previous internship or other accounting/tax experience with a CPA firm or medium-large corporation
A grade of an A or B in Intermediate Accounting
GPA of 3.0 or higher

Additional Information :
Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months).
Program Dates: Interns must be fully available for 40 hours/week from January 2019 through June 2019.

Housing: A limited amount of housing is available on a first come, first served basis.
Transportation: Interns must have reliable transportation to get to and from work for the duration of their internship program.
