The Global Information Security (GIS) group provides services and solutions to protect the value and use of Disney’s information through risk evaluation, collaboration, standardization, enforcement, and education across the enterprise. We protect the brand and reputation while enabling and supporting business objectives. GIS teams are located in Seattle, Burbank, and Orlando.
In order to ensure that our services keep TWDC secure, we follow an ongoing, iterative process, including continued reevaluation of our services over time to address emerging threats as well as changes in business and technology. This process includes:
Analysis of known and emerging threats to determine risks against TWDC assets
Creation, maintenance, governance and communication of security policies and standards across TWDC
Assessment and audit of compliance against the security policies and standards
Assurance that TWDC assets are effectively managed and monitored to meet TWDC security criteria

The Governance team provides guidance in the protection of TWDC’s information through analysis of risk and establishment and management of enterprise security policies and standards. TWDC needs are evaluated to determine balanced, agreed-on enterprise security objectives and direction is set through ongoing dialog with business segments.
Responsibilities : The Sr. Program Manager, Governance is responsible for driving the effective delivery of high quality services and results within the team’s primary areas of responsibility. This will be accomplished through ongoing guidance and monitoring of Information Security Governance and Data Governance program commitments, continuous operational and financial improvements, and effective collaboration and open communication within GIS and with other Company stakeholders.
Accountable for driving execution and delivery of multiple complex programs from start to finish. Develop and execute program plans (comprised of parallel projects and multiple project managers) that collectively produce work that has significant risk reduction impact.
Serve as Information Security Governance and Data Governance ‘go to’ person for guidance in both functional area and program management discipline. Provide guidance for team’s project planning, execution and delivery; oversee portfolio efforts, project financial investments, and portfolio health reporting to GIS leadership.
Key services include: prioritization, investment planning, project process improvement, project management consulting and support, and the generation of project portfolio dashboards that accurately reflect a fully analyzed status against committed deliverables.
Maintain fiscal practices and controls, authorizing, recording and reporting on program expenditures; manage all program financial and resource commitments. Forecast and reconcile Information Security Governance & Data Governance annual budget facilitating effective resource allocation, ensuring spending is aligned to the strategy and promotes cost efficiency.
Supervise production of PARs for all Information Security Governance & Data Governance projects
Manage and communicate program status to senior stakeholders, maintaining alignment with overall GIS portfolio and fiscal year priorities. Seve as key connection point across other GIS domains and functions, proactively aligning with other program maangers to ensure dependencies across programs are identified and managed. Partner with peers to deliver analysis and briefings to leadership re: efficiency, effectiveness and coverage.
Manage function/service catalog to accurately reflect current state and corresponding accountabilities. Continuously analyze and enhance operations and risk metrics to assure relevance and support the achievement of operational goals.
Manage aggregation of segment’s key risk indicators and delivery of Information Security stewardship reporting.
Proactively manage and analyze dashboards and comprehensive operations metrics and risk scorecards to ensure alignment with security initiatives, priorities and capacity availability.
Manage and enhance the processes around team’s employee development and collaboration. Ensure Information Security Governance and Data Governance staffing levels and skillsets are managed to plan including coordinating with HR to execute against the talent acquisition plan and monitoring professional growth and team development initiatives.
Basic Qualifications :
10 years of experience in information technology with at least 5 years in a management role
Knowledge of information security components, principles, practices and procedures.
A general understanding of common operating systems, networking protocols, database and application development.
Preferred Qualifications :
Information security experience
At least one of the following: CISSP, CISM, CISA, PCIP, ITIL v3 Foundation certification or equivalent
Required Education :
- BA/BS in business or computer science or appropriate work experience
Preferred Education :
- Masters or other advanced degree
