Sr. Business Analyst, Platform Distribution

Platform Distribution Operations develops and supports the distribution of products and services that create value for The Walt Disney Company, our partners, and our fans. As part of the Platform Distribution team within Disney’s Shared Services, Platform Distribution Operations provides product strategy, product implementation, project management, content delivery execution, event management, and sales support on behalf of The Walt Disney Company for linear and digital products, content and transactional sales with existing and emerging global distribution partners. The team also supports the rollout and expansion of Disney+, ESPN+, Star, Hotstar and Hulu.

The Platform Distribution Operations team plays a critical role in developing and maintaining technology and workflow solutions to support teams such as Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Distribution Planning and Analysis, and Operations in the distribution of content. The Systems and Process Management Senior Business Analyst will manage multiple projects simultaneously to drive process improvement, systems management, governance, and integration of content distribution across various lines of business. This role will collaborate closely with Technology, Disney Streaming, and other technology and operations teams within TWDC to facilitate system requests (including new functionality, escalations, and enhancements), document process, and create training materials to support new functionality and enhancements. The Senior Business Analyst will also provide guidance to TWDC business stakeholders on existing business process and will define, document, and socialize new/enhanced processes as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders, identify action items, and follow up on deliverables.

  • Play an active role in addressing system tickets from end users and trouble shoot issues to resolve in a timely manner.

  • Analyze and manipulate large data sets to identify patterns and issues.

  • Test fixes for system bugs and enhancements and track UAT results.

  • Drive optimization of system usage by maintaining and delivering process and systems training.

  • Create a team environment that is open and inclusive and encourages candor, communication and collaboration

  • Create and build relationships with counterparts across TWDC in sales, operations, production, digital media, legal, accounting, etc. and externally with distributors, business partners, vendors, and technology developers.

  • Use critical and creative thinking and analysis to solve highly complex, multifaceted business challenges in a multi-matrixed, cross-departmental environment, employing relationship building, team building, collaboration and critical thinking strategies and skills.

  • Champion DE&I efforts within the team and contribute to a team environment that is open, inclusive and encourages candor, communication, and collaboration.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • At least 3 years of related experience in Content Distribution, Strategy, Operations, Project Management and/or Product Implementation.

  • Working knowledge of the content licensing and distribution businesses including rights management, deal management, digital media, content distribution, contractual compliance, technical and platform requirements, business operations strategies and project management practices.

  • Strong conference call and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Strong commitment, focus and persistence to drive complex, multi-faceted projects to completion on challenging timelines. Creative problem solving skills, and ability to identify options to bring projects to closure.

  • Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously with respect to near term and medium term goals, including managing internal and external stakeholders, documenting and communicating progress, anticipating issues, problem solving, and reviewing project deliverables for completeness, quality and compliance with established standards.

  • Must thrive in a role primarily driven by projects highly focused on operational and technical requirements.

  • Must be able to elicit requirements from various business units across organizational and geographical boundaries and coalesce into a standard protocol.

  • Excellent inter-personal, organizational, presentation, writing, relationship building, collaboration, negotiation, customer service and computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required.

  • Ability to produce highly polished, accurate, and clear documents for internal and external audiences in a timely manner.

  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management.

  • Strong attention to detail and accountability. Able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance.

  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners, vendors and customers.

  • Non-traditional work hours may occasionally be required depending on business need.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • International experience preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $79,900 - $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
