The Walt Disney Company Senior Manager, Organizational Development in Burbank, California
The Walt Disney Studios encompasses the creation, production, promotion, sales, acquisition and domestic and international distribution of live-action and animated motion pictures, DVD releases, live stage plays, and music and soundtrack recordings.
The Senior Manager, Organizational Development serves as a consulting resource to HR Business Partners and executive leaders throughout The Walt Disney Studios. Their key role is to integrate Organizational Development services and guidance with key short and long-term strategic initiatives, especially those related to organizational transformation.
The Senior Manager, Organizational Development is based in Burbank, CA and reports to the Director, Learning and Organizational Development and Workforce Analytics.
Work closely with HR Business Partners to help business unit leaders set strategy, improve core business processes, redesign organizational structures, clarify roles and establish comprehensive communicate plans for key stakeholders, partners and employees.
Drive organizational culture change by identifying and project managing key activities and critical conversations that build the foundation and momentum across the Studio and within the individual Lines of Business.
Build the OD capabilities of others including HR Business Partners by providing practical guidance on methodology, tools, and implementation in areas such as organization assessments, process re-engineering, and change management.
Assess gaps between ‘desired’ and ‘actual’ business performance and contributing factors, to enable the development of relevant, localized business solutions.
Develop options for organizing work and people through structure, roles, processes, governance practices and culture to optimize business performance.
Design and implement change and transition strategies that enable business growth, transition and continued evolution.
Leverage and synthesize data from various sources in order to recommend solutions for the organization and teams.
Continually invest in self-development and the evolution of the function by remaining current with new developments, technologies, industry trends and innovations.
Basic Qualifications :
7-10 years of OD consulting experience in a business environment
Understanding of OD theory and application, with the ability to adapt traditional approaches to meet stakeholder needs
Demonstrates strong business acumen and a track record of success in partnering with business leaders
Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish assignments with minimal supervision
Ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues/areas that do not always have a process or a system in place
Ability to focus on critical issues to balance and respond to competing priorities.
Strong analytical, diagnostic and consulting skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation
Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and influence skills with clients and colleagues
Highly innovative and creative in approaching and accomplishing all work
Demonstrated bias towards action with a focus on getting things done and making things happen
Required Education :
- Advanced Degree (e.g. PhD or MA/MBA/MS preferred in Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, Organizational Development/Effectiveness)
