At The Walt Disney Studios, you’ll help bring compelling stories to life through film, music and live entertainment.

The Production and Investment Planning group will support all business units across the Disney enterprise to identify and access worldwide government based incentive opportunities, including but not limited to, worldwide film and television production incentives. The Production and Investment Planning group will identify opportunities for savings, evaluate and minimize risks and assist in implementing the changes necessary to realize those benefits in a fashion aligned with operational objectives. The Production and Investment Planning group will work collaboratively with the Tax Planning Group and all business units and joint ventures as well as operational stakeholders including government relations, finance, legal affairs, business affairs, and accounting. The Production and Investment Planning group will be the Disney liaison to government representatives when discussing and negotiating government based incentives.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform in a Chief of Staff roll to the VP, Production and Investment Planning. This includes research on all government representatives (bios, political positions, affiliations, terms, etc.) prior to meetings. This position will be the first contact for all meet and greets between government representatives and the production and production finance teams.

  • In partnership with the production teams, manage the logistics of all “Give Back to the Community” advance screenings (1500 + attendees at each) for Walt Disney Studios, Marvel, Lucasfilm and ABC Studios. This may require domestic and international travel.

  • Work closely with production executives and creative team members to develop presentations to promote marketing opportunities tied to incentives for various jurisdictions.

  • Partner with Vice President to ensure alignment between franchise based plans and initiatives and production incentives.

  • Research and respond to day-to-day questions that come up from the business units regarding film and television production incentive programs.

  • Manage all statistical data requests for incentives for all Disney affiliates.

  • Manage and prepare spreadsheets to track incentives.

  • Build and maintain stellar relationships with film commissioners, brokers and studio counterparts.

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of studio meet and greets and set visits for government officials.

  • Manage and organize all government meet and greets for all business units.

  • Partner with management to coordinate and execute deliverables related to Production Incentives.

  • Manage the office and take actions to resolve issues and concerns on behalf of the Vice President as needed and provide day-to-day support to Vice President (phone/calendar/travel & expenses).

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in government relations and studio entertainment finance

  • Strong technical skills: MSOffice (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and SAP, plus ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues; demonstrated proficiency in excel required.

  • Extremely organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to handle confidential information

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to interact effectively with people of all levels of the organization

  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills suited to a team environment

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Flexible and able to change priorities as needed to meet deadlines

  • Quick learner with a demonstrated ability to creatively and proactively problem solve

Required Education :

  • 4 year degree in a business related field

  • Must have basic understanding of finance and accounting
