The Walt Disney Company Paralegal Specialist (PH) in Burbank, California

Disney Music Group seeks an experienced paralegal with strong understanding of complex music agreements in support of worldwide sales of audio and video products released by the DMG. The employee will locate and review contracts and other legal documents to uncover relevant detail, analyze and interpret agreements, organize and catalog those materials and clearly communicate information relevant to the agreement. The employee will work closely with the business and legal affairs, music publishing, royalties and finance teams.
This is a Project Hire role, with an employment duration of 12 months as an employee, but with a set end date.
Review royalties reports and prioritize contract review process, including, defining a process to quickly and efficiently resolve all issues and track progress
Locate physical and electronic agreements and other legal documentation relevant to this project, in archives and across the company
Review legal agreements and contracts for royalty and rights information
Interpret and reconcile information and data, to provide recommendations to upper management to resolve any outstanding issues
Liaise with Royalties, Music Publishing Administration and other internal stakeholders for research and data interpretation purposes
Participate in regular meetings to review key progress indicators to ensure we are meeting our monthly objectives
Complete other duties as may be directed by DMG from time to time
Basic Qualifications :
A minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in the music industry
Experience with music contracts, custom and practice is a must
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and think strategically in solving problems
Strong understanding of spreadsheet and database programs
Resilience to work within a complex organization and find creative solutions
Willingness to be proactive and work independently
Strong project management
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and completely, both orally and in writing and to be able to translate that information to computer systems
Must be a team player, willing to work closely and in concert with our royalties team and other partners as necessary
Ability to work quickly, accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous priorities
Preferred Qualifications :
- Paralegal certification and formal experience
