This role will assist the Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative with all administrative tasks associated with managing workers’ compensation claims. The position requires review and documentation of claims information, issuing vendor and Cast Member payments and state mandated workers’ compensation forms. Additional duties involve transmitting claims transactions to the State of California Division of Workers’ Compensation, and responding to Cast Member phone inquiries.

Responsibilities :

  • CLAIMS MANAGEMENT UNIT

  • Answers Department Phone on rotation

  • Issues Payments for:

  • Weekly Disability Diary and Benefits

  • Awards

  • Medical Expenses (Liens)

  • Expense (Legal)

  • 72 Hour processing of new litigation filings

  • Claim documentation production

  • Issue Benefit Notices (more than 50 different notices)

  • Schedules Medical Appointments and required documentation

  • Prepares claim historical documents

  • Arranges Transportation and interpreters as needed

  • Requests records outside of DLR facilities

  • Prepares documents for State compliance and Settlement Documents and medicals for submission

  • Permanent Modified Work offers retraining Voucher

  • File and Service of documents for Hearings at WCAB, Applicant’s Attorney, Defense Attorney

  • Prepares Documents for Reinsurance Treaty reporting

  • Department Mail Processing – Pickup, Opening, Date stamping, Delivery to Postal Dept.

  • Scans incoming mail for Unit

  • Researches and Indexes daily mail for correct claim number

  • Researches and indexes electronic fax mail

  • Applies identifying properties to mail

  • System/claim coding

  • Assists with telephone translation

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated understanding of California Workers’ Compensation statute

  • Demonstrated proficiency in CARS, HMS, eDocs, WorkBrain, SAP, Outlook

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish speaking

Required Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
