This role will lead union Hotel Engineering Services Cast Members and manage vendors when needed. Responsible for building and property maintenance, as well as managing the teams that provide support for all Disneyland Resort Hotels. The work environment is dynamic, with a significant responsibility for producing tangible results. This role is charged with corrective maintenance for buildings, carpentry, paint, masonry/concrete, and all types of flooring. This role will manage the Engineering Team in sustaining quality standards and safety within the team itself and service contractors.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership to large team of hourly union Cast Members.

  • Develop career enhancement opportunities for hourly Cast Members.

  • Manage and approve Cast Members leave request and work schedules.

  • Manage, prioritize, and execute work orders in a timely and effective manner.

  • Provide technical guidance in carpentry, paint, masonry/concrete, and floorings of all types.

  • Provide guidance for planning and scheduling techniques for optimum labor efficiency.

  • Ensure budgets are followed and maintained.

  • Develop scope of work and cost estimates for repair and maintenance work.

  • Create Preventative Maintenance programs for operational requirements.

  • Partners with clients to understand and meet their requirements.

  • Uses metrics and reporting to drive organizational success.

  • This position is responsible for developing proactive maintenance strategies while managing budget/cost control, customer relationships, guest and cast safety, training and staff development.

  • This leader will manage a team of multi-craft engineers, including electricians, mechanics, HVAC technicians, painters, carpenters, decorators, and general mechanics.

  • Responsible for the application of safe work practices on the job in compliance with Disney’s safety rules and the development of a safety culture focused on Cast engagement in safety improvement efforts.

  • Monitor and support field operations, coordinating job assignments, evaluating work practices, and conducting safety reviews.

  • Respond to emergency situations and lead activities to protect Cast Members, Guests, and the facilities while working to maintain or restore service.

  • Drive progress toward regional and department goals.

  • Prepare reports and correspondence as necessary to communicate work or facility status, challenges, or opportunities to leadership.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated leadership experience/ability in building a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to set standards for consistency.

  • Demonstrated process thinking for continuous improvement and problem solving methodology using root cause analysis.

  • Demonstrated Customer Service focus with strong Customer Relations skills.

  • Overall knowledge of buildings, trades (carpentry, paint, masonry and interior finishes).

  • Working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems as it pertains to an industrial.

  • Proficient in ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Workbrain, SAP, MAXIMO, and Business Objects.

  • Knowledge of modern industrial maintenance methods, principles, and practices related to the operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

  • Ability to lead and direct teams, establish performance expectations, and motivate and coach team members.

  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situation and to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Eight to ten years progressively responsible experience with industrial maintenance or repair of buildings/facilities as it relates to facility management.

Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural/architecture/mechanical/electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field with a minimum of four years progressively responsible in facilities operations, construction, and building maintenance.
