The Walt Disney Company APAC Test Architect in Shanghai, China

The Test Architect is responsible for functional test planning and execution across all releases of products delivered by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Technology Asia Pacific (APAC). They are responsible for driving the highest levels of quality into each release, working with delivery teams.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop overall testing processes in conjunction with other organizational stakeholders and delivery teams

  • Helps formulate and develop effective test architecture to support organizational needs

  • Responsible for serving as the testing authority across the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Technology Asia Pacific organization

  • Responsible for developing and executing the following tests

  • Feature – functional testing of capabilities within the developed system

  • “Epic” Release Level – integrated end-to-end system-wide tests

  • Exploratory Testing – un-scripted testing

  • Responsible for working with product delivery teams to ensure epic-level test requirements are developed for each release

  • Responsible for providing support, as needed, to lower-level tower and studio testing teams

  • Responsible for demonstrating true end-to-end expertise in the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Technology Asia Pacific suite of products

  • Provide analysis, creation, and facilitate the review of strategic test plans

  • Estimate release-level test efforts

  • Support defect management

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience with functional testing, including testing strategy, test case development and execution, and defect management

  • At least 3 years’ experience in automated testing (e.g. Selenium, JBehave, JMeter, Load Runner, QTP, etc.).

  • Strong leader and decision maker with at least 3 years of experience in leading large and multidisciplinary QA teams

  • Experience working within an Agile environment is preferred

  • Demonstrated skill in testing enterprise distributed systems is strongly desired

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to root cause complex issues required

  • Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments

  • Excellent time management, planning, organization and prioritization skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Mandarin)

  • Knowledge of software testing methodology / processes and software development life cycle

  • Experience in testing in a client server, embedded systems, or web based environments

  • Passion for quality and no line of code written without testing

  • Passion for continuing education and improving code quality through interaction with delivery teams

Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
