Disney Technology Solutions & Services (DTSS) is responsible for technology strategy and management, central engineering, architecture, IT and technical operations for The Walt Disney Company including virtual worlds, flagship Web sites Disney.com, Disney Family.com, ABC.com and ESPN.com. DTSS provides services in both platform engineering and web operations. Platform engineering includes Content Management Systems, UGC Enforcement Platform, E-commerce, Video Distribution Technology, Registration, Advertising Systems and Data Warehouse & Reporting. The DTSS web operations teams focus on Servers & Hosting and Network Connectivity. DTSS teams are located in Seattle, Bristol, Glendale, New York, Burbank, and Orlando.

Responsibilities :

  • Understand the business problems and advise on solution options

  • As Project Lead, analyze, design, collaborate and coordinate work to make the project successful

  • Collaboratively develop software solutions to business problems

  • Support the solutions through communication, community participation, documentation and due diligence

  • Department Budget

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience with Javascript

  • Experience with Multiple Programming Paradigms (OOP, Functional, Procedural, Aspect, etc)

  • Proactively identify and solve issues

  • Able to understand the bigger picture

  • Experience with web application development

  • Experience with automated testing, ideally ATDD

  • An understanding of data structures and algorothims

  • Driven to get work done in a timely fashion

  • Open to adaptating and learning

  • Experience with SQL

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with meta-programming

  • Experience with API integration and development

  • Understanding of operations and/or systems engineering

  • Experience developing with Vim/Emacs on a unix cli

  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, or Kanban

  • Experience with a Unix Command Line Interface

  • NodeJS

  • AngularJS/React

  • ECMAScript 2015

Required Education :

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
