Disney Entertainment Manager, Finance- DTC Global Subscription Planning in Santa Monica, California

In DE Subscriber Finance, we are seeking a Manager, DTC Global Subscription Planning. We are a highly visible team of professionals who serve as in-house advisers to the Direct-to-Consumer’s executive leadership. We are responsible for leading the subscriber & engagement growth planning and reporting. Our hard-working team’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the rapid growth and success of the Direct-to-Consumer business.

The Walt Disney Company's Disney Entertainment (DE) group includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content business globally, including streaming (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Star+, and Disney+ Hotstar).

What You Will Do

  • Lead consolidations of global subscribers, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ Help identify some of the business' key issues by providing subscriber transparency from a high-level perspective to help create solutions

  • Create and track KPI's to drive execution and operational improvement

  • Lead subscriber forecast consolidations for all DTC businesses globally (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+). This will require a full understanding of subscription drivers and metrics for all of our 200M+ subscribers in 100+ markets around the world in a multitude of retail and partnership products.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with key partners, including subscriber planning leads for all three services and international regions, as well as subscription revenue and engagement planning.

  • Develop/build impactful, compelling presentation materials that effectively communicates global subscriber projections, including drivers and business performance.

  • Present to leadership; opportunity to provide a consolidated, high-level view of global subscriber trends, development areas, and opportunities for growth.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of global operating performance, major partnerships, discounted promotions, key content releases, product changes, global pricing strategies, challenges facing the businesses, and relevant trends in the streaming industry.

Required Qualifications & Skills

The right person for this role has excellent problem solving and analytical skills paired with outstanding critical thinking. We are looking for an excellent communicator who has a track record of success when partnering with key business operators.

  • Minimum 4+ years of professional work experience in media, tech, strategy, business planning, management consulting, or investment banking/private equity

  • Significant analytical and modeling experience including ingesting and analyzing large amounts of data in order to drive decision-making

  • Ability to work cross functionally in a team environment, managing many stakeholders and building relationships throughout the company

  • Very organized with the ability to prioritize activities, effectively manage timelines, and deal optimally with pressure

A candidate with a passion for the media industry and content as well as a natural curiosity is a huge plus!

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Economics or similar subject area with an analytical bias

The hiring range for this position in CA is $123,000.00-$165,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
