The Division Finance team is a fast-paced, dynamic team working directly for the segment CFO. Responsibilities of the team include segment-wide operating and capital planning, quarterly and annual earnings forecasting, monitoring of segment/business unit operating performance, franchise planning and various special projects. The group is also charged with developing presentations to inform segment Senior Management, Corporate FP&A and Investor Relations regarding the segment’s forecasted financial performance, business trends and capital investment.
Responsibilities : This position focuses on management of finances for segment overhead and is ideal for a candidate who possesses strong relationship, process and analytical capabilities and is interested in gaining operational expertise. It is a unique opportunity to work closely with some of the top executives at DCPI in supporting the finance needs of their organizations. The role also requires working with non-financial business partners and HR on a day-to-day basis, helping drive decision making. Client groups range from character artists to teams developing product sold at retail to the PR group creating viral marketing campaigns behind major launches.
Manage the execution, financial review, consolidation and presentation of departmental forecast and annual operating plans for client stakeholders
Function as primary point of contact for client stakeholders and ensure adequate support for each stakeholder group
Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide business consultation and financial guidance that shapes client thinking and supports decision making processes.
Establish a strong understanding of the key businesses supported in order to drive FPA consultative work
Oversee the development of commentary / cause of change explanations for management reports and client-specific reports. Provide insight and business analysis for executive leadership
Provide oversight and guidance on development of mitigation plans for significant issues or opportunity areas
Drive improvements in analysis and process
Develop and manage professional staff
Basic Qualifications :
Minimum of 7 years experience in finance/ accounting
Experience managing professional staff
Varied segment or corporate experience within Disney is a plus
Solid foundation in Financial Planning & Analysis activities and processes is a must Preferably prior FP&A experience within Disney is strongly preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
Strong relationship management and client service orientation
Ability to interact and partner with all levels of management and stakeholders, specifically Senior Management
Ability to provide a consultative approach with clients helping to drive business and financial decisions
Ability to identify issues, generate and evaluate alternatives and implement solutions
Required Education :
- Bachelors degree
