Strategic Planning is a highly visible department within the Studio Distribution division that is responsible for exploration and optimization of new business models, technologies, and distribution channels, with a focus on driving the long-term profitability and growth of distribution businesses worldwide.
The Strategic Planning team provides objective business decision support to evaluate new business development opportunities and other key initiatives. The team also works collaboratively across the distribution businesses to develop the organization-wide, long-range strategic plan.
We seek to hire a senior financial analyst to support the formulation and execution of Walt Disney Studios’ distribution strategy. The role requires superior strategic and financial analysis skills. The individual must possess the ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior executives to local managers in the field.
Analyze critical new business development opportunities
Help develop and optimize Studio distribution business models
Contribute to developing long-range plan and on-going strategic planning process
Own financial models for key strategic initiatives and participate in building business plans for key strategic initiatives
Monitor film distribution trends worldwide to support analyses and identify opportunities/risks
Serve as project team member on a variety of projects and initiatives with minimal direction
Present analyses and recommendations to senior Studio executives
Basic Qualifications :
2+ years overall work experience
Prior experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or investment banking
Passion for filmed entertainment and/or digital media
Familiarity with entertainment business models
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Superior strategic skills and ability to solve complex business challenges
Excellent communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
Proficient developing management presentations
Highly collaborative and team-oriented work style
Ability to prioritize activities, manage timelines, and deal effectively with pressure
Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in doing business in foreign markets
Familiarity with working in or with large organizations
Required Education :
- BA/BS from a top tier undergraduate school with a superior academic track record
Preferred Education :
- Focus on finance, accounting, or other quantitative field a plus
