The Production Finance team is looking for a business analyst to support the strategic finance and planning activities at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The successful candidate will take the lead in collecting, summarizing, and interpreting production-related financial data for the finance team and studio executives. Additionally, this position will partner with various constituents in Disney Animation to analyze and understand the drivers of Disney Animation production. This position will report directly to the Director of Production Finance.
Partner with Development and Production teams to manage long-term placeholder film projects, including budgets, forecasts, schedules, and staffing profiles.
Maintain database of key production finance data and metrics and develop key performance indicators and business drivers to identify risk and opportunities related to film costs
Aid team to drive monthly forecasts, Annual Operating Plan, and Five-Year Strategic Plan
Create and maintain model of production downtime projections to support studio decision making and scenario analysis; partner closely with Workforce Planning team to ensure model reflects consistent assumptions and methodology
Review overall Production financial results and summarize performance for executive presentation
Support key financial and strategic analysis and project-based work for studio and senior management
Assist in preparation of presentations to senior and executive management
Basic Qualifications :
The chosen candidate for this position will have the ability to:
Critically evaluate and communicate financial information and recommendations to finance management
Translate and communicate accounting and financial information to various parities in digestible formats and language
Communicate effectively within a business and creative environment
Develop dynamic financial models and drive strategic analyses
Essential characteristics for the chosen candidate include, yet are not limited to:
Experience with a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank, software/high-tech manufacturer, or media/entertainment company a plus
Excellent presentation, communication (both oral & written) and relationship building skills
Experience preparing and interpreting financial and accounting analyses such as cash flow forecasts, cost and budget trend and variance analyses, and pro forma analyses
Proven financial modeling and forecasting experience
Experience with financial systems (e.g. SAP) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) a plus
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands on resources
Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Required Education :
- An undergraduate degree (in business or a related field) with 3-5 years of related work experience
