Disney Entertainment Senior Manager - Finance, DETV Financial Planning in Burbank, California

The Disney Entertainment segment of The Walt Disney Company is responsible for developing, producing, and distributing our outstanding content and oversees the operations of the Company’s entertainment streaming services (including Disney+ and Hulu) and entertainment broadcast and cable television networks. Disney Entertainment brings together the Company’s outstanding creative, product, technology, and commercialization teams into one global organization, with the goal of growing the footprint of Disney’s world-class content and beloved brands and delivering highly personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.

The DETV Financial Planning Team is responsible for managing the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and Forecasts for segment-level executive review (e.g. CFO / Chairman) for Disney’s global television networks and studios. Additionally, the team engages in a variety of analyses across the businesses to provide leaders with an understanding of segment-wide strategy and performance as well as the consolidated advertising revenue, affiliate revenue, programming costs, marketing costs, and SG&A costs. This position reports to the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the consolidation of the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan and Forecasts in partnership with two other Senior Finance Managers and their direct reports

  • Prepare presentations and ad hoc analyses and present to senior management

  • Analyze forecast information to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and develop key storylines

  • Proactively identify, recommend, and drive improvements in existing models and processes

  • Manage the forecast process by creating timelines, crafting results, and preparing partner communications

  • Build effective partnerships across multiple levels with finance, controllership, and other teams across the organization to facilitate consolidation of forecast data

  • Provide Cognos TM1 system support both within the team and as needed by partners

  • Manage two direct reports (senior financial analyst + Accounting & Finance Rotation Program analyst)

Qualifications :

  • 7+ years of applicable experience in finance and planning

  • Strategic mind-set with aptitude for thinking broadly both across the team’s work and across a sophisticated set of businesses

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complicated business issues with autonomy

  • Sophisticated technical skills with a variety of applications / systems including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (experience with Cognos TM1 is a plus)

  • Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence leaders, peers, and partners through building effective and positive relationships

  • Proven leadership ability with experience building / managing an inclusive and collaborative team

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other quantitative field; MBA preferred

The hiring range for this position in California is $148,200.00 to $181,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
