The Manager, Finance & Planning will work closely with the Director and VP of Finance & Planning to help guide ABC Network executives by providing high-quality, accurate, and timely financial information to be used in the strategic decision making process. In addition, the Manager will identify ways to drive organizational change and operate more efficiently, both in forecasting processes and systems. The individual must be comfortable working with and presenting to both senior executives and the various stakeholders across the Walt Disney Company. The candidate will also support special projects on an ad-hoc basis. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills as well as an acute attention to detail.
Responsibilities : Primary responsibilities include:
Forecasting & Planning: Prepare forecasts, Annual Operating Plans and 5 Year Plans for ABC Entertainment Group. Create, monitor, and maintain detailed series economics on a show-level basis. Prepare cause of change (variance) analysis and other reports for consolidations team as well as upper management.
Operations Support: Perform project Greenlight/renewal analysis.
Develop and maintain financial planning models
Support the preparation of presentations and ad hoc analyses for senior management
Overhead Planning – Meet with various ABC Entertainment Group department heads to plan and maintain their departmental budgets throughout the year. Additionally, plan and report ABC Entertainment Group overhead costs via the Cognos system.
Champion Change: Partner with key stakeholders in operations & finance to drive organizational change.
Manage, train and develop one senior financial analyst and one intern
Basic Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues.
Strong technical skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, SAP, BW. Experience with Cognos TM1 is a plus.
Advanced financial modeling skills
Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously.
Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Ability to lead and develop a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Previous work experience in television or feature film FP&A is a plus.
Required Education :
B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field
