Disney Media Distribution (Int’l) and Disney-ABC Home Entertainment TV Distribution (North America) license content on behalf of all Disney Producers (i.e. ABC Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Lucas, Marvel, etc.) to numerous customers throughout the world. Specific products in the Digital area include Transaction Video On Demand (TVOD), Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), Electronic Home Video (EHV), and Advertising Video On Demand (AVOD). In exchange for the rights to make this content available to their end users, companies such as Apple, Netflix, Comcast, etc. pay Disney a license fee that is based on a royalty calculation and may include Minimum Guarantees. The Digital COE Accounting team is responsible for (1) obtaining the royalty reports from the customers, (2) reconciling the reported fees to the contractually agreed terms, (3) resolving disputed calculation with the customers, (4) invoicing and applying cash, (5) aiding in collection efforts, and (6) MG recognition and allocation to the titles.
Responsible for tracking revenue performance of licensees in digital media distribution deals such as VOD, AVOD, and EHVL. Primary focus on Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy as well as other countries as needed
Liaise with International Sales, Finance, and Legal teams to deal with financial issues pursuant to their deals
Review monthly reporting supplied by key clients for compliance with contractual terms and conditions
Help with invoice issue resolution for select customers to ensure that payments are secured in accordance with the agreed terms
Compile supporting documentation for audits carried out by internal and external auditors
Research queries from Participations department relating to audit questions
Prepare quarter end accruals and SOX control procedures
Perform ad hoc reporting for finance and the applicable commercial teams
Basic Qualifications :
0-3 years of experience
Strong interest in Digital Media and Programming
Preferred Qualifications :
- Entertainment Industry Experience, specifically TV Licensing
Required Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Education :
- CPA (not required)
